Curly hair: How to style your curls

If you’re naturally curly, you’ve probably been told by at least one person how much they envy your hair. What they don’t know however, is that achieving a good curly hair day is harder than it looks! Prone to frizz and unruliness, especially in humid conditions, curly hair can be difficult to style. But, with the right haircut, technique and a little patience, you’ll soon find you can tame your mane into smooth, defined curls.

For beautiful curls, start with the basics

No amount of styling can hide unhealthy, damaged hair and split ends especially can make your hair even frizzier. To keep your curls in top condition, get a trim every six to eight weeks and use a wide toothed comb to detangle your locks from the bottom up. This avoids breakage and you’ve guessed it, those dreaded split ends.

Style smart: first hydrate your curly hair

After washing with the Cleansing Conditioner Curl Ideal which is specially formulated for curly hair, apply the luxurious Mask Curl Ideal, a deep treating mask for voluminous, curly hair, which provides control on hair volume as well as frizz. Prep your hair with a nourishing pre-styling cream like the Crème Oléo-Curl from our Discipline range which contains the highest Pro-Kératin concentration of any of our lines. Applied before styling, it hydrates the hair providing thermo-protection and anti-frizz action for smooth, defined curls. You can also use it as a light finishing touch after styling to add extra shine and protect against humidity. If you prefer a lighter texture, try the Mousse Curl Idéal to give your curls shape and definition with an airy, natural finish and no rigidity.

Using a hair dryer with curly hair

If you’re not using the attachments that come with your hair dryer, then you’re missing out! Cue the diffuser, your new best friend. On a low setting, it spreads heat evenly throughout your hair, minimising frizz and keeping your curl pattern together- a blast of cold air at the end also helps to seal the cuticle and provide even more shine. Avoid scrunching your hair in your hands while you dry so as to not to cause frizz!

When using the right products and techniques, your curls will never look better!

How to combat very dry hair in winter

As temperatures go down, central heating goes up, stripping all the moisture out of your hair and leaving you with parched, dry locks that lack shine and vitality – sounds more like hay than silk, right? And as if that weren’t enough, other harsh factors such as icy winter winds and wearing a wooly hat can really finish off the job. So what can you do? Hydrate, protect and hydrate some more!

Repair and nourish

Specifically formulated for very dry hair, our Bain Magistral shampoo contains key active ingredients that provide an intensely nourishing action and target the symptoms of dehydration. For an added touch of luxury, massage the product into your scalp and rinse with cold water to boost circulation.

After shampooing, take the repairing action one step further with the Fondant Magistral conditioner. One of our most nourishing complexes, it helps restores the hair fibre’s balance. Nourished from root to tip, your hair is supple and easier to detangle.

And for those really desperate S.O.S cases, say hello to your new secret weapon – Masque Magistral. Massaged into your lengths and left to work its magic for 5 minutes, this rich mask is capable of reviving even the most severely dried-out hair. Your hair is left feeling soft to the touch and supple with a radiant shine.

Just like skin, very dry hair can benefit immensely from night time treatment. Applied in one simple step just before bed, the new Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum captures the healing power of sleep and leaves the hair intensely nourished in the morning.

Ultimate in-salon care for dry hair

To ensure your locks stay glossy and looking healthy, visit your nearest Kérastase salon to indulge in the Nutritive Protocol Immunité in-salon ritual in addition to your at-home care. Tailored to your hair’s level of dryness following your stylist’s diagnosis, this bespoke treatment will keep your hair looking its best throughout the winter!

My Kérastase Results by Eva McMahon

Most women dream about having great hair, straight teeth, flawless skin and a toned, healthy body, and I am no different! I feel very lucky that I was born with thick hair that has a natural curl. Lots of people say things to me like “Lucky you, you do not have to curl your hair”, or “Your hair is so thick, you’ll never have to worry about thinning hair”. Well yes that may be true, but what they don’t know, is about the issues I have experienced.

Scalp issues can be brought on by many things, including lifestyle changes like stress, change of environment, or changes in your diet. Unfortunately, scalp issues may appear all of a sudden and when you least expect it. Some people do not like to talk openly about scalp issues however, I feel it is the same as talking about your body issues, acne or any other troubles women and men may experience. None of us are perfect and I am pretty confident that even super models find that one thing that may bother them. It is all about finding solutions for our problems.

As the specialists would say, I think it is super important to always start with the basics. If you want to lose weight, you change your diet and workout and it affects overall health. I recently learnt it is the same with your hair. If your scalp is healthy, you hair can look and feel better.

I have always been proud of my hair but I would get embarrassed of my sensitive scalp. I had two parts around the hairline that were so sensitive and dry that it effected the look of my skin around my hairline. So I decided to take control and seek the help of the professionals!

If you read my two previous posts, you will see I recently experienced the Kérastase Specifique scalp and hair treatment at the Richard Ward salon and have been using my recommended at home haircare routine ever since.

Since I experienced the in salon treatment and have been using the at home routine, I have seen visible, positive changes on my scalp. The dry patches I used to be embarrassed about appear to have gone, my scalp feels soothed, and I have had no signs of dryness.

Whilst I hoped and thought that these products would help my scalp, I was happy to see how it also affected my hair. Before going into this process, I didn’t realise how strong the connection was between a healthy scalp and healthy looking hair. But now I have seen the results for myself, I am a firm believer in this! My hair definitely feels more healthy to touch, it is easier to work with when drying my hair or styling it, and it has more shine.

In addition to the 3 step routine the other Kérastase product I cannot live without the Elixir Ultime Oil. This oil leaves my hair shiny, soft and really use to work with, it’s a great prep product for pre styling.

Whilst I am very happy with the results that I have seen since I made these changes to my routine, I firmly believe that the hair needs continuous care. I know that I will have to maintain my new routine if I want to see long term changes and keep up the good health of my hair and scalp, as you would with diet and exercise!

That being said, these changes have definitely helped to boost my confidence. I’ve been getting lots of compliments on my hair from friends and family, and also from my followers on my blog and social media. The fact that people around me have noticed positive changes in my hair is the best proof I can get that my new routine is working!

Hair breakage: the causes and the solutions

Let’s be honest, there’s nothing to love about brittle hair and split ends. But what causes it and how can you get rid of it? First in line amongst the usual suspects, is lack of moisture. Dehydrated hair is far more prone to breakage, so optimal hydration is key.

The next major culprit is too much heat styling. While it can give you amazing results, it’s no secret that continuous heat styling damages and weakens your hair over time, making it an ideal candidate for breakage. Try cutting down and when you do use a hot tool, be sure to protect your hair and prevent split ends with a targeted treatment such as the Sérum Thérapiste. Its breakthrough technology that combines FIBRA-KAP ™ and Sève de Résurrection protects the fibre from heat and seals ends for a sleek, polished finish.

Do some damage control with this 3-step ritual

We recommend starting with a conditioner before your shampoo for this hair care regime to help prevent further breakage while washing. Target breakage with a rich conditioner like the Soin Premier from our Thérapiste range. Applied to wet hair, it contains six types of Amino Acids that work on the most frazzled areas of your hair to repair any damage internally. After a few minutes, emulsify and rinse before following up with a nourishing shampoo such as our Bain Thérapiste to gently cleanse your strands and wash away any impurities. Last up in your anti-breakage arsenal, our Thérapiste Masque! Intensely nourishing, this mask acts like an S.O.S bandage for your hair, strengthening and protecting it from further damage.

Get professional help for hair reconstruction

If you think your strands are beyond repair, think again. Head to your nearest Kérastase salon for a made-to-measure Fusio-Dose treatment. Clinically proven to reduce breakage by up to 98%, Concentré Vita-Ciment reconstructs the hair fibre thanks to its high performance formula and is mixed in with one of five boosters depending on your hair’s specific secondary needs, tackling everything from breakage to dullness for an instant transformation.

Keep hair healthy for longer

To maintain your glossy locks post-salon, your stylist will send you home with your personalised Fusio Home Lab treatment. Designed for use over four weeks, your kit will contain the same concentré and booster prescribed and used in-salon to revive your hair to keep it in top condition between salon visits. Use it alongside your at-home Thérapiste 3-step ritual for peace of mind, and show-stopping hair to boot!

My At Home Ritual with Kérastase by Eva McMahon

Over the past few years, I have developed a huge passion for at home beauty rituals, whether it is for my hair, face or body. However, I generally get the most compliments on my hair, so I make sure I give it extra care to keep it healthy and glowing!

It gives me huge satisfaction when I look after my scalp. There is something special about staying at home, pampering yourself and then seeing and feeling the results. I really look forward to my evening pamper sessions and my ‘me time’, especially since I have become a mum!

In general, my at home hair ritual consists of washing my hair once to cleanse, and then again to treat, followed by conditioner or mask. I also apply the Elixir Utilme hair oil to make sure my ends stay hydrated. To be honest, most of the time I use a mask over conditioner as I feel it gives my thick hair better hydration.

When I started to experience my scalp issues at University it took me a while to find the shampoo that would help me long term. I felt frustrated when I would try recommended products, hoping they would be the solution to my problems, but my scalp would remain dry and sensitive. At times, I felt embarrassed and it started to affect my confidence. But when I discovered Kérastase Bain Riche Dermo-Calm shampoo I started to enjoy looking after my scalp again. I have been using it ever since.

This shampoo is designed to help people with a sensitive and dry scalp. Not only does it promise to cleanse the hair, but also soothe the scalp at the same time. I have been using this shampoo for several years now and it still works for me.

So how does it work? It contains the natural plant oil, Calophyllum oil and Glycerol. This product clearly works for my scalp. And I’ve found if you keep your scalp healthy your hair will reflect it. My hair feels light, revitalised and hydrated when I use it.

Since I had my treatment at the Richard Ward salon, I have actually incorporated the Kérastase Masque Hydra-Apaisant and Cure Apaisante into my at home routine too – and they have taken scalp and my hair to another level!

The masque is very easy to use. Unlike most traditional hair masks, you can apply this directly to your scalp. It contains AOX Complex that is formulated with L-Carnosine, which is a combination of amino acids, and Vitamin E, which you probably know is an antioxidant. The masque is also enriched with Morings and Rhamnose. Once applied, it offers hydration and a soothing effect.

The final step, is the Cure Apaisante which was applied during the salon treatment, but can also be applied at home. It is a special treatment that should be used over a course of 4 weeks and you are advised to use it 3 times a week. I wash my hair according to personal needs but I would say I wash it roughly 3 times a week anyway, which makes it very easy for me to use this Cure. It can seem a little daunting, but it’s actually very easy to use!

It leaves the scalp feeling soothed and protected. After washing my hair and applying the mask, I apply the Cure to towel dried hair. You can also apply it to dry hair but I prefer to use it after I washed my hair. You distribute the cure onto the scalp section by section, then massage in with fingertips and leave, no need to rinse.

The whole routine is super easy to do, and feels really luxurious, a bit of like when you are using a serum on the face. I enjoy the three-step routine, as it feels more like a ritual. Plus, I have seen fantastic results. I look forward to my hair routine more than ever before.

Look out for article next week when I will be sharing my final results and how I like to style my hair.

Air dry vs. Blowdry

NATURAL STYLING AT ITS FINEST

Air Dry vs. Blowdry

For many women, hair washing is a treasured beauty ritual, allowing time for relaxation. But what comes next? Some enjoy the undone look of the air-dried mane. Others prefer the perfectly polished appearance only a blow dry can achieve. Others want something in the middle—what French girls call coiffé décoiffé or “undone style.”

There is no right or wrong choice, but whichever styling adventure you choose, you must have the right products to nourish and protect your hair while delivering incredible results. The Aura Botanica range presents options for both schools of thought, and everything in between.

Styling With Aura Botanica

Bring the heat or go au naturel. Either way, there’s a product to nourish and protect.

Crème de Boucles

Apply this curl defining leave-in cream to towel dried, naturally curly hair for soft bounce and up to 72-hour frizz control. Proceed to blowdry with a diffuser. Re-apply later on dry hair to revive those curls.

Eau de Vagues

Spray this texturising mist on damp hair from root to tip. Scrunch and air dry for natural, glowing beach waves. Blowdry with or without a diffuser for more constructed waves and added volume.

Lait de Soie

Apply on towel-dried hair. Take 2 to 4 pumps, depending on the length and thickness of the hair. Spread this smoothing leave-in milk from root to tip and blowdry for a silky, touchable finish.

Essence d’Eclat

Shake well before use. Mist towel-dried hair with this lightweight bi-phase oil to add nourishment, frizz control and glow. Air dry or blowdry, the choice is yours. Spritz it on dry hair for a smooth glow anytime.

My Sensitive Scalp Journey – by Eva McMahon

During the years I have been through many different phases with my hair, however one thing that changed drastically for me at University, was the sensitivity of my scalp. All of a sudden, my scalp started to disagree to the majority of shampoos I tried, making it feel uncomfortable. I was always proud of my hair and always that person that got lot of compliments on it, so my dry, sensitive scalp was a real concern for me. At that point I started my search for the perfect shampoo for my sensitive scalp.

Around 3 or 4 years ago I started to look on different discussion pages and forums to find a shampoo that would hydrate and help sooth my scalp. That is when I first tried Dermo Calm Bain Riche shampoo from the Kérastase Specifique Range. Straight away, I started to see results. I always get great results when I do two rounds of shampoo, one to cleanse, the second to treat, and of course make sure I wash the product out properly. That is one of the key things I think everyone should keep in mind – you won’t see the results if you don’t use the products in the correct way.

So I was over the moon when I got the opportunity to try the Kérastase Specifique Protocol in salon. I booked a visit in the Scalp Clinic at Richard Ward Salon based in Chelsea, but the treatment is also available in other selected Kérastase salons nationwide. I can say that it is the best salon I have been to so far in London. If you decide to go there, you are in for a big treat. The salon is spacious with gorgeous design and the small touches that make it very special. The staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming.

Upon arrival I was shown into a private room where the scalp treatment takes place. I think it is a fantastic idea to have a separate room as it allows you to discuss any scalp issues you want to keep confidential. My hair stylist, Foster, explained everything in detail so I could understand more about the process and the results the treatment delivers. It was very helpful to get more insight. After my hair consultation we came to the conclusion that we would tailor the treatment to my sensitive scalp. You can also have the treatment if you are experiencing dandruff, hair loss or oily hair; it is totally tailored to your needs. I would compare the treatment to having a facial, as you don’t just see the results straight away but over a period of time.

The first step is anti-pollution cleansing. Kérastase offers an in-salon only Masquargil clay mask that provides deep cleansing of your scalp. It helps to unclog pores, and eliminate excess oils and sweat from the surface. I know it does not sound appealing but trust me my scalp felt soothed and cooled instantly. It is applied with a small brush and spread evenly on the scalp.

The next step is the sonic cleansing which is combined with one of the prescribed Specifique Bains shampoos. The choice of Bain for me was clear as I have been using that product for few years now, the Dermo Calm Bain Riche shampoo. they use a Clarisonic professional brush that is specifically used for the scalp cleansing, and also provides an amazing, sensorial experience. Simply heaven. Not only does it feel good, this brush is so effective that it detoxifies your pores and activates micro-circulation. It also cleanses the hair more effectively than manually shampooing hair using a pulsating sonic movement.

The final step at the backwash is the application of Masque Hydra-Apaisant, which is a renewing gel cream mask that is developed for scalp issues. And I almost forgot to mention another part of this wonderful treatment – the massage chair! I had such a great time during the treatment and as a busy mummy with a toddler at home; this was such a nice and relaxing treat for me.

The final part of the treatment was the Cure Apaisante vial, which is an intense treatment designed for dandruff and scalp irritation to help soothe the skin over the course of treatment. One Cure was inserted into the Micronizer (the device which helps disperse the product) and was sprayed directly on to my scalp, in sections. Once my whole scalp had been sprayed with the Cure, it was then combed through my hair. Again, it offered an instant soothing and cooling effect and it also smelled divine!

The whole treatment was finished off with a gorgeous blow dry. I opted for a classic bouncy look and it looked amazing. My scalp felt very hydrated, hair looked fantastic and I felt instant relief - It was honestly like leaving a salon after a facial but this time focusing on my scalp!

I left the salon feeling very happy and with my personalised haircare routine, recommended by my hair stylist, Foster. To help improve my sensitive scalp, he recommended the Bain Dermo Calm Riche shampoo, the Masque Hydra-Apaisant and the Cure Apaisante.

Look out for my article next week where I will share my at home routine and how I am getting on with the products!

Wave dandruff goodbye

Anyone who suffers from dandruff will be familiar with those dreaded white flakes that regularly make their appearance on shoulders and backs. Although surprisingly common, the symptoms of dandruff can leave you feeling embarrassed and anxious that it’s the first thing people notice about you. You might be thinking that it’s the result of a dry scalp, but it can affect those with an oily scalp too.

So what causes dandruff?

Dandruff occurs in 1 in 2 people* and is caused by a natural by-product called oleic acid which can irritate the scalp. As a defence, the body starts to shed skin cells faster than usual which is what can cause those visible skin particles. And while the root cause of dandruff is always the same, other factors such as cold weather or central heating that can aggravate the problem, by making the symptoms appear worse. Luckily, there are steps you can take to make sure the only flakes in your hair this winter are of the snow variety!

Protect and nourish your scalp

When it comes to gently removing dead cells and moisturising your scalp, the Bain Anti-Pelliculaire (which actually means anti-dandruff in French) from the Specifique range is our go-to shampoo. Specially formulated without silicone, it gently cleanses and refreshes to reduce the appearance of dry or oily dandruff, from root to tip, for up to eight weeks. Or try our concentrated 4-week treatment Cure Anti-Pelliculaire. Head to your nearest Kérastase salon for your personalised treatment and Anti-Dandruff Spécifique Protocole.

And because the colder months mean your scalp and your hair can be more prone to dryness, make sure you keep them both hydrated with a deep nourishing treatment like the Masque Hydra Apaisant. Working to soothe and moisturise, it’s ideal for all hair types leaving you with a refreshed scalp and glossy, supple locks. Goodbye dandruff, hello healthy winter hair!

Itchy scalp? Tips on how to take care of it

There’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in your own skin and your scalp is no exception. Whether it’s sensitivity or itchiness, our Specifique range is specially formulated to target scalp-related issues and deliver effective relief. So if you’re forever multi-tasking or constantly on the go, take a moment to indulge and re-establish some balance.

Treating the problem at the root

Life in the city certainly has its perks – gastronomy, culture, music, the list is endless – but environmental factors such as pollution can be particularly stressful for your scalp. Using a hypoallergenic purifying shampoo such as the Bain Vital Dermo Calm or the Bain Riche Dermo Calm if your hair is dry, gently eliminate the day’s impurities and soothe the feeling of itchiness and sensitivity. Both hypoallergenic formulas are silicone-free and contain key active ingredients such as calophyllum oil which acts as an effective moisturising and anti-inflammatory agent.

Dry hair and itchy scalp? hydration is key

We all know the drill – drink more water and stay hydrated! When it comes to an itchy scalp, dryness can be one of your worst enemy and your lifestyle can sometimes be the culprit. For example, ‘drying your hair from that early morning swim, or sitting all day in an air-conditioned office can strip your hair of the moisture it needs to stay healthy-looking and full of vitality. After cleansing, replenish and hydrate your scalp by applying the Masque Hydra-Apaisant directly to the scalp. It’s an intense treatment enriched with L-Carnosine and Vitamin E that works to re-balance moisture levels and provide instant relief.

Thinning hair? Here’s how to cope with it

If you consider your crowning glory to be your hair, you’re certainly not alone! Widely perceived as a symbol of health, youth and vitality, any sign of hair loss in the form of shedding or thinning can be alarming to say the least. Factors such as genetics, post-pregnancy shedding or even lifestyle choices such as a poor diet can all play a part in diminishing your tresses. And if that weren’t enough, the winter months and central heating are a perfect recipe for dehydration, making hair more likely to be prone to frizz, breakage and – you’ve guessed it– taking a turn for the wispy. If you are concerned about hair thinning, contact your Kérastase stylist to discuss and receive a Specifique Protocole in-salon treatment designed for thinning hair. And follow these few tips at home to fight the good fight.

Address thinning hair by starting with scalp care

To get rid of any volume-defying residue and boost the appearance of the hair fibre, start by cleansing with our Bain Prevention shampoo. It purifies the scalp and texturises your strands, instantly giving them more body. Follow this up with applying the ultra-nourishing Masque Hydra-Apaisant directly on to the scalp and then extending to the lengths of hair. But before you reach for that towel - think again! Your hair is at its most vulnerable after it’s been saturated with water so instead of rubbing it, gently pat to blot away excess moisture.

Up the ante with a targeted treatment

Once you have applied your shampoo and conditioner, it's time to give your thinning hair a boost with our Cure Anti-Chute programme. Used every day over six weeks, your hair feels thicker and stronger. Using your fingertips, massage a full dose onto your scalp, section by section before moving on to your usual styling routine.

As a treatment “top up” the Stimuliste spray from our Spécifique range can help boost your tresses and prevent further thinning. Designed for daily use, it’s specially formulated with Aminexil to improve the visible appearance of hair density .

How to style thinning hair

Finally when it comes to styling, the last thing you want to do is weigh your locks down with heavy products such as waxes or gels! For even more oomph, finish off your style with a few sprays of Volumifique spray from our Volumifique range to add substance to your hair without the heaviness.

Expert tips to manage oily hair

Although natural oils play an essential part in keeping your scalp and hair healthy, it is possible to have too much of a good thing! When produced in normal amounts, sebum keeps your strands smooth and hydrated, preventing excessive drying which can lead to breakage. When sebum production goes overboard however, the result is limp, greasy hair.

So what causes overproduction of sebum? Quite a few things as it happens! From your genes to hormonal imbalances, humidity and your diet – even touching your hair too often can help spread the oil further down the hair fibre.

Treating oily roots at home

When dealing with greasy locks, your first instinct might be to wash your hair more often, but try shampooing every other day with our Bain Divalent shampoo, which is specially formulated to cleanse and purify the scalp.

Pro tip – after shampooing, make sure you rinse twice to reduce any build-up which can weigh your tresses down and make them appear greasier.

After cleansing, replenish your scalp with the Masque Hydra-Apaisant from our Specifique range. Because it works directly on your scalp rather than your hair like a traditional mask, it is ideal for sensitive and even oily scalps. For best results use this expert tip! Make sure your hair is soaking wet before you apply to your scalp and massage it in to boost penetration and circulation. After three minutes, rinse to reveal a soothed, refreshed scalp and long-lasting comfort.

Getting in-salon expert help to get rid of oily hair

For an even more personalised approach, head to your nearest Kérastase salon for the Spécifique Protocole for oily hair. Tailored to your hair’s specific needs, this bespoke treatment starts with a nourishing pre-shampoo Masquargil mask, a double cleanse to gently get rid of any impurities followed by a shampoo and treatment to target oily roots and hair. The result? A perfectly rebalanced scalp and beautifully silky hair.

How to keep your hair colour looking amazing

Colouring your hair can give it a new lease of life and is a great way to reinvent yourself. Keeping coloured hair looking bright and lustrous can take a lot of maintenance: this is because hair dye weakens your tresses and can leave them prone to further damage, and also colour fade. As such, coloured or highlighted hair can require more nourishment than natural hair.

How UV rays and water can damage coloured hair

It is no secret that UV rays from the sun damage skin cells, but they can also cause havoc on hair. Prolonged exposure to these invisible rays can damage the hair’s structure, leading to further damage such as split-ends, breakage frizz and also decolouration. Dyed hair is even more vulnerable to UV rays so it is important to properly protect and nourish it to keep your colour from fading.

Water can be a big villain for coloured hair as well. Rinsing it with very hot water or even washing your hair too much lifts the outer cuticle layer, leading to colour fading. Hard water, really common in the UK, contains minerals such as calcium, copper and chlorine which can deposit on your hair and leave your hair looking and feeling dull.

How can I protect my hair colour from UV and water damage?

Kérastase has developed an at-home Reflection haircare range created especially for dyed hair. Each product in the range is enriched with UV filters, Vitamin E and a Chelator Complex to keep your hair colour looking amazing.

A personalised approach to haircare

While all coloured hair needs to be defended against UV rays and water damage, not all hair is the same and we believe that your hair products should be personalised to suit your individual hair needs. That is why you can choose the Kérastase Reflection shampoo that is the most suitable for your hair, depending on how sensitised it is (go for Reflection Bain Riche shampoo if it is very sensitised) and the conditioning product most suitable to your conditioning needs and hair thickness. The Reflection Fondant Chromatique conditioner offers a weightless touch, whilst the Reflection Chromatique Masks offer a more rich and nourishing treatment for both and thick and fine hair.

How can I revive my hair colour between salon visits?

To ensure that every colour is catered for, we have developed a selection of Touche Chromatique ink-in-care products. When blended with our conditioners or masks from the Reflection range, they create a bespoke product that both enhances colour and protects your locks. Who says you can’t have the best of both worlds?

Touche Chromatique Copper ink-in-care to revive copper shades

The blend creates a leave-in treatment enhances coppers to retain boldness and shine. Let those auburn highlights radiate!

Touche Chromatique Red ink-in-care to revitalise reds

Formulated for vivacious red heads, this ink-in-care creates a personalised intense hair treatment which keeps hair soft, shiny and helps reflect red tones.

Touche Chromatique Cool Blond ink-in-care to neutralise yellow undertones

For all you honorary cool blondes, this might be the ink-in-care you have been waiting for. The sumptuous formula neutralises unsightly tones and keeps your locks their chic, cool shade of blonde.

Touche Chromatique Cool Brown ink-in-care to neutralise red undertones

This ink-in-care helps keep your locks looking cool brown by neutralizing brassy undertones and boosting browns instead.

Simply mix 10 clicks of your chosen Touche Chromatique with your Reflection conditioning product. Leave on for 5 minutes, rinse and style. And voilà!

With Kérastase, it’s easier than ever to get a tailored solution to keep your hair colour protected and bright until your next salon visit.

How to Enhance Your Natural Curls and Waves

Curly hair is back and it is everywhere. If you are lucky enough to be blessed with natural curls, then you won’t need rollers, heat or a perm to nail the look. However, if you want to get the most out of your luscious locks, you will probably want to know how to tame them. The good news is our Discipline range is here to help you do just that!

Maintenance is everything when it comes to curly hair

The secret to smooth and defined curly hair is maintenance. If you want to be Queen of the Curls, then it’s important to get them trimmed regularly. This helps eradicate split ends and keep your hair healthy.

To wash, or to co-wash?

When it comes to day-to-day care, using the right products can be the difference between frizz and controlled. Discipline Curl Idéal cleansing conditioner is perfect for those who like to co-wash, or conditioner-only wash, their curly hair. Conditioner are able to remove dirt and residue from the scalp and, of course, condition which keeps hair soft and silky. Containing a luxurious blend of amino acids, wheat protein and conditioning agents, the product is ideal for nourishing and protecting curly hair as it both washes and conditions the hair. It’s also silicone and sulphate-free, which leaves hair with a natural touch.

Once you have washed your locks with Curl Idéal, tame any voluminous curls with the Masque Curl Idéal hair mask. Simply massage onto lengths and ends, leave for 5-10 minutes, and rinse thoroughly.

Create smooth curls

Curl definition and smoothness is what gives curly locks their enviable and head-turning appearance. Oléo-Curl cream allows you to achieve this look at home. It’s enriched with pro-keratin and helps prevent frizz and protect your locks from humidity. Applying it to hair that has been towel-dried helps create smooth, silky curls.

Get bouncy, defined curls

If you dream of bouncy, defined curls, then Mousse Curl Idéal could be the answer. The intense and sumptuous formula contains ingredients such as algae extract, glucose and hydrolysed elastine, all of which help to tame, nourish and protect curls. For best results, simply scrunch it on towel dried hair.

Then, whichever Discipline product you have opted for, simply let it dry naturally, or style with a diffuser on a cold air setting and you can have a good hair day every day.

With Kérastase, you can now get professional-looking curls at home as well as in the salon!

As temperatures go down, central heating goes up, stripping all the moisture out of your hair and leaving you with parched, dry locks that lack shine and vitality – sounds more like hay than silk, right?

And if you feel you need to go one step further, try our Cure Apaisante for an intensive four week treatment to soothe your scalp or head to your nearest Kérastase salon to experience our Spécifique Protocole for sensitive scalps- you’re in safe hands!
