How to add volume to fine hair
You’ve teased, brushed and coiffed but despite your best efforts, you just can’t seem to give your fine hair the boost it needs. Sound familiar? Well, you’re not alone! In the UK alone, 56% of women feel that a lack of volume is their biggest hair disappointment, whilst 81% of women with fine hair believe that thicker hair would make them happier. Fortunately, the good news is that with the right products and a few styling tricks up your sleeve, it is possible to cheat your way to voluminous red carpet-ready locks!
For more volume, start with the right hair care routine
While investing in a good haircut certainly helps, real volume starts in the shower. Using our Bain Volumifique shampoo which is specially formulated to cater to fine hair, gently cleanse your tresses whilst creating feather-light volume.
Next, supersize your locks with our Gelée Volumifique conditioner for added substance. Applied to damp hair and rinsed out, it nourishes whilst providing a light-weight touch and long-lasting volume. Pro tip – always finish your hair care routine with a cold water rinse to give your hair an extra boost.
Reach new heights: style to create volume
Before you begin styling, either spritz your strands with our Volumifique Leave-in Volume Expansion Spray or apply a small amount of Volumifique mousse to amplify your styled look. But remember – when it comes to fine hair, less is more! Going overboard with styling products weighs your hair down and has the reverse effect of making it look limp and flat.
For maximum volume, blow-dry your hair upside-down using your hands or a diffuser to spread the heat evenly and give your roots a serious lift. Unless you’re a real whizz with the round brush, leave the brushwork to the professionals as too much of it can actually make your hair even flatter. Once you have achieved the look you want, don’t forget to seal your style with V.I.P volume in powder, or you run the risk of undoing all your hard work!
