SCIENCE

ELIXIR ULTIME

Why isn't my hair shining?

Your hair's appearance depends on how its surface interacts with light, touch, and humidity. Here is how Elixir Ultime addresses these factors:

Aligned Hair = More Shine
When the hair’s surface (the cuticle) is smooth and well-aligned, it acts like a mirror, reflecting light in a single direction. This creates a strong, vibrant shine that the eye perceives as healthy and bright.

Conditioned Cuticle = More Smoothness
Smoothness depends on the condition of your cuticle. If the cuticle is damaged, it becomes raised and rough, creating "asperities" (bumps) that snag and feel coarse. Conditioning helps flatten these scales, making the hair feel silky to the touch.

Well-Coated Hair = Less Frizz
Frizz is often caused by humidity. When hair is exposed to moisture, it swells and changes its shape, leading to frizz. A protective coating helps seal the hair fibre, stabilizing it against these changes.

The Solution
The Elixir Ultime formula uses two gliding polymers to help align, smooth, and coat the hair, delivering on all three benefits at once.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fragrance is premium To be honest I think the best part of this oil is the fragrance. Results are similar for less pricy alternatives and combined with packaging size it makes for a treat-like purchase. I enjoyed my single use sample!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Five Stars for Smooth, Shiny Hair! With the hot and humid weather we're having at the moment, this little beauty has definitely earned its 5 stars! ✨ Just a little of this oil goes a long way. It leaves my hair feeling beautifully nourished, smelling amazing, and, best of all, keeps my frizz under control without weighing my hair down. A gorgeous finishing touch - Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Little bit of magic I received a 1.5ml sample. Very difficult to open and not waste any. I used during the recent UK 90+ ° heatwave. Felt very nice, not sticky or greasy. Barely enough to use on both halves of head /hair length. Smells nice. Not much coverage to really test and review. My 3b hair needs hydration so teeny sample bubble a bit underwhelming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shiny hair! I received a sample to try this oil and I'm really happy with it! It lasts for long time as you only need a few drops and I have medium length. I warm it in my hands and put it in my hair (but not in the scalp) and I love the after feeling

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So soft and shiny I love this product I got it as a sample but oh Lordy does a little go a long way I love that it’s not heavy and leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny I’m in my post partum phase and can honestly say it’s done wonders for my hair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxury I received a sample of this product to try & i would definitely think about buying full size now, i loved putting a couple of drops onto my dry hair, it smells amazing and left my hair shiny & soft a little goes a long way & is a nice little treat to have

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hair oil for shine and softness I've tried a sample of this Kerastase hair oil and I loved it as it left my hair a lot softer and shinier. It also smells really nice, it's light weight and does not leave your hair with an oily/greasy texture.
    Date published: 2026-06-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes my hair feel soft Not a greasy oil at all, makes my hair feel really soft. Not keen on the smell personally but it’s a nice hair oil. A little goes a long way!
