Describe your daily hair routine
Neither of us have the time we used to have to dedicate to our hair routine. We wash it probably every 3-4 days in the evening, rough dry it and then either straighten or tong it if we are working, or tie it on top of our heads in a ‘mum bun’ if we’re with the kids. Thinking about it our poor hair gets next to no TLC.
How does day-to-day life effect your hair routine?
It’s funny, we know that when our hair looks good, we feel good but we tend to end up doing our hair with a toddler on our knee so we can never concentrate on it too much. Rushing around from nursery drop off, commuting into town and then dealing with dinner, bath and bed for two kids each our hair is constantly being put up and down all day.
How does ‘good hair’ and going to the salon make you feel?
Our biggest luxury is a blow dry. Nothing else makes us feel as put together and presentable as when our hair looks good. We love any photo we take after a blow dry, it makes any outfit look amazing and the fact that we get to sit down for 40 minutes with no one disturbing us - and drink a hot cup of tea - is such a treat.
Why do you go to the salon?
For a rest! Lol. But really, for a little R'N'R and a feel good boost.
Best haircut and how it made you feel?
Gemma chopped all of her hair off recently and it’s changed her life, not only is it easier but she’s experimented
with so many new hair accessories. Sam recently found “the one” in David G at Hershesons who cuts her hair so perfectly.
Hair trend you embraced and want to forget?
Zig zag partings!
One hair product you can't live without?
Elixir Ultime - the gold one
Tell us how your hair feels after the Fusio-Dose treatment?
Expensive! Cared for! Swishy and shiny!
Summer days are all about being outdoors and enjoying the warm weather. Unfortunately, too much sun exposure can have a negative effect on your hair. We’re taking a closer look at the effects of the sun on your locks, and why it’s so important to protect your hair during the summer.
What effect does the sun have on hair?
You wouldn’t step out into the sun without adequate protection, so why would you treat your hair any differently? The sun can have a number of negative effects on your hair, resulting in:
- Damaged strands that are more sensitised and prone to breakage
- Colour fade, lightening or shade changes
- Hair that is prone to tangles and knots
- Dry hair that is prone to split ends and damage
The sun weakens your hair's protein structure, meaning that it loses moisture and reduces elasticity. When combined with wind, heat, salt and chlorine, this can be a recipe for disaster. And if your hair is already damaged, exposing it to the sun can make it even worse. An open cuticle exposed can cause dullness and dehydration while changing the look and texture of your hair. Your locks can become coarse, brittle and frizzy, and more difficult to style.
What’s the best way to care for your hair during the Summer?
Prior to stepping outside, make sure your locks are prepared for what’s to come with Kérastase UV Crème Sublime. This lightweight leave-in cream is designed to give your hair long-term shine and smoothness. An application of this anti-frizz cream is the perfect way to keep your hair looking great all summer long. Just remember to apply before and during sun exposure for best results.
Once you’re back inside, reach for Kérastase Bain Après-Soleil. This after-sun shampoo is enriched with coconut water and gently removes chlorine, salt and sand residue from your locks, restoring shine once more for healthy, vibrant tresses.
Cutting your ends can remove damage from the tips, but this doesn’t solve the problem at the roots and in the middle of your hair. The best solution for these parts? A powerful mask to replenish lost moisture and strengthen and invigorate hair once more. Try Kérastase Masque Après-Soleil. This lightweight mask provides nourishment and hydration, ideal for the summer months.
Enjoy the benefits of summer, minus the damage, with these tips!
When it comes to caring for your hair during summer, the most important thing is to include products that give your hair what it needs to thrive and be healthy. We’re checking off the perfect summer haircare routine to keep your locks shining. Sun protection, made easy!
What’s the best summer haircare routine for your locks?
A typical summer haircare routine should include a good helping of hydrating and nourishing products, as well as those that help to fight the effects of sun exposure on your hair. Here’s our foul proof 4 part plan for the ideal summer haircare routine:
1. A great way to start off your perfect summer haircare routine is with Kérastase Bain Après-Soleil. This after-sun, coconut water-enriched shampoo helps gently remove chlorine, salt and sand from your locks, helping to cleanse and protect them from dryness. Leaving your hair more resistant and soft. After working it into your scalp and lengths, hair feels hydrated and refreshed.
2. While you’re still in the shower, don’t forget mask time! Enriched with coconut water, Kérastase Masque Après-Soleil is a deep recovery mask that helps to replenish hydration after exposure to the elements of summer. When applied on cleansed hair, it helps to smooth down the hair fibre for better uniformity from root to tip without weighing down your locks. Leave in for 5-10 minutes for best results, before rinsing thoroughly.
3. Once you’re out of the shower, next up is applying your styling products. And we’ve got two just for you! If you’re after a sensual scented leave-in moisturising cream enriched with vitamin E, try Kérastase UV Crème Sublime. This cream helps to prevent dryness, and is perfectly suited for dry or wet hair application. It helps to protect your hair from external aggressors, while instantly boosting radiance. Alternatively, you can apply a spritz of Kérastase Huile Sirène, a leave-in spray that enhances natural beach waves. The perfect way to define your relaxed beach style, this spray helps to keep frizz away while softening your hair.
Summer Haircare: Summer Hair Products and Styles For Hot Summer Days
What’s the perfect way to style your hair on hot summer days? With the best products and looks of course! Here’s how to keep your locks looking fresh and on form, for oh-so-natural style. Summer haircare has never been so easy.
What are the best summer styles and how do you achieve them?
When it comes to summer styles, the best ones have three things in common:
they keep your hair looking natural, they’re easy to pull off and most importantly, they help keep your hair protected and treat it right. Here are our top 3 summer hair looks:
1. Beach waves
The quintessential look of summer, beach waves are a must. Easy to do, flawless to wear, we’re all about channeling our inner-beach babe and Kérastase Huile Sirène is the ideal product to get you there. This leave-in spray helps to define and enhance your natural curls to make beach waves. Enriched with Babassu oil, it helps to instantly soften your hair for touchably smooth texture- ideal for the perfect beach waves look. Hair is radiant, looks frizz-free and ready to take on summer with this style.
This fuss-free look doubles up on style! We’re big fans of loose French braids that help keep your tresses out of your face, and your hair game on point. Before forming the braids, work Kérastase UV Crème Sublime into your lengths and ends, to help prevent dryness and tame frizz. Enriched with Vitamin E, this cream helps to give your hair a silky-smooth finish, and provides enough texture to make braiding easy. It also helps to protect against whatever summer throws at you, and looking good while doing so.
3. Low ponytail
A low ponytail is a great way to keep your hair off your shoulders, but stylishly. And it looks even better when your hair is smooth, shiny and frizz-free. Achieve this with Kérastase UV Crème Sublime, work into your lengths and ends, to help prevent dryness and tame frizz for a silky-smooth finish.
Whatever the style you opt for, hair in the summer has the tendency to be drier (thanks sun!) therefore, it’s important to choose an after-sun shampoo and masque that addresses this need. For after sun care, try Kérastase Bain Après-Soleil. Enriched with coconut water, it helps to remove the residue of summer (such as chlorine, salt and sand) in order to cleanse your locks without drying them out. This after-sun shampoo works hand in hand with the Kérastase Masque Après-Soleil to restore smoothness and shine.

Step into spring with nourished hair
Spring is in the hair! As weather gets warmer and we take off our winter hats, the damage done to our hair over the previous months can become apparent...
What winter does to our hair: two major concerns
Dryness: A common hair concern noticed after winter is dryness. But with all that rain, how is that possible? In fact, it’s the cold air combined with central heating that can strip moisture out of the hair. The result is frizz, a straw-like texture.
How to care for hair post-winter
To nourish dry, damaged hair, it’s important to start with a shampoo and conditioner formulated for your specific hair concerns. Not just a “one case fits all” treatment, the Nutritive range includes the Bain Satin 1, Bain Satin 2 and Bain Magistral shampoos for different levels of dryness, including dry, very dry and severely hair.
Follow with the Lait Vital conditioner or Masquintense deeply nourishing masque, also from the Nutritive collection, and finish by applying the new 8h Magic Night Serum, a lightweight hair serum for thorough overnight nourishment. Just a few drops on the lengths and ends will give you shiny, soft and healthy-feeling hair that you don’t have to wash in the morning.
Worried about harming your dry hair with styling tools? Don’t forget to use Nectar Thermique, also from Kérastase, a non-greasy heat-protecting cream for dry hair.
How to perfect your bedtime hair routine
Take care of your hair while you catch up on some shut-eye by using these key tips on night time haircare, and wake up runway-ready!
What we love about a thorough night-time haircare treatment is how easy it is. Once you’ve applied your treatment and secured your hair in place, all that’s left is to close your eyes and start counting sheep...
What treatment should you be using on your hair, and why?
The night-time is the perfect opportunity to apply a deeply nourishing hair treatment like the new Nutritive 8h Magic Night serum by Kérastase. It gradually absorbs into the hair fibre, caring for your hair as you sleep. Plus, it doesn’t need to be washed out when you wake up, making it ideal for anyone with a fast-paced lifestyle. The result is luxuriously nourished hair from the moment your alarm rings.
3 top tips about caring for hair while you sleep.
As well as treating your hair to a nourishing night hair serum, here are some key haircare tips that can really help protect against damage and promote overall hair quality:
- Help prevent night-time hair breakage caused by tossing and turning by using a soft silk pillowcase and make sure you wash them regularly
- Use a silk scrunchie to tie up your hair at night. Not only are they back in fashion, but they can help keep the shape of your hair and can be a lot gentler on the hair than regular elastics.
- Make sure you brush your hair from root to tip before going to bed, this will release tangles and help distribute your natural oils, helping you wake up with shiny, healthy hair.
Make the most of your forty winks with a nourishing hair treatment, for hair that’s ready to face the day!
Does your hair need an overnight treatment?
In the past, overnight beauty treatments have been focused on skincare. But why not our hair too? Let’s start treating our hair with as much love as our skin, and help improve its beauty and quality with an overnight treatment. Introducing the new 8h Magic Night Serum for hair from the Nutritive collection by Kérastase!
A nourishing overnight serum for the hair
Just like our skin, hair suffers from aggressions throughout the day, and night-time offers the perfect opportunity for revitalisation and nourishment. The new Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum is the hair care answer to a night time skin care ritual. Applied in one simple step just before bed, it intensely nourishes your hair whilst you sleep. The lightweight formula, containing iris root extract and blend of 5 essential vitamins, leaves hair feeling lightweight and irresistibly soft to the touch. With its beautiful fragrance designed to develop whilst you sleep, this is the perfect addition to your night time beauty regime.
Hair protection at night?
While aggressors such as pollutants and harsh weather elements are reduced at night, there are other ways your hair can become damaged while you sleep. Tossing and turning during the night can cause friction and static leaving your hair frizzy in the morning and when you turn up the central heating to get that cosy feeling, your hair is more likely to become dry. This explains the origin of the word “bedhead”.
Night-time serum for all hair types
The 8h Magic Night Serum can be adapted for all different hair types that have one concern in common: dryness.
On fine dry hair, apply the serum to the lengths and ends to avoid weighing it down.
For normal-to-dry hair, apply a few drops of serum throughout the hair.
On thick and very dry hair, apply the serum through hair, then focus application on the driest zones.
Running late? Great hair from the word Go
One of our key concerns when it comes to haircare is not having the time to treat it properly. Which is where the 8h Magic Night Serum really shows its innovation: there’s no need to wash it out in the morning! Hair feels nourished and strengthened, with a healthy shine.
What is a toner?
You might have heard about a toner when it comes to your skincare routine, but what about in haircare? Let’s take a look at the most common colour concerns, and how a hair toner can help.
What is a toner?
Unlike in skincare, where a toner is used to tighten the skin, in haircare a toner is for re-balancing or personalising colours due to discolouration or fading. There are two types of hair toners: the one used by your hairstylist after lightening your hair, and one that can be found in some everyday products that helps preserve and boost your colour.
Common hair colour concerns
The most common hair colour issues are 1) brassiness developing in newly colour treated blonde hair as the toner wears off and the colour beneath shows through, and 2) brunette hair gradually showing increasingly red/orange tones due to lightning (sun exposure, over-washing etc.). Henna, a natural hair dye, can also produce unexpected colour results. It’s always recommended to visit a professional if you’re thinking about changing your hair colour.
How does a toner work?
A toner works according to the colour wheel, counter-balancing the unwanted tone by adding a colour from the opposite side of the spectrum. Take yellow/blonde, for example. What colour is opposite? Purple! So, by adding a purple tint to the hair, it loses its brassy shade. Try our anti-brass purple shampoo, Bain Ultra-Violet and perfecting mask, Masque Ultra-Violet from the new Blond Absolu range to neutralise brassy tones. There are many different shades of toner used when lightening hair, creating different colours from ashy blonde to striking platinum. It all depends on your vision for your hair.
What is purple shampoo? Everything you need to know on how to care for blonde hair.
Blonde hair comes in many forms, from natural, highlights, balayage through to ombre. Read on for how to care for blonde hair, as well as our top recommendations for shiny, illuminating and voluminous locks.
Let's start with the basics, and probably why you’re reading this article. What is purple shampoo & what does it do for blonde hair?
1. Purple shampoo was
invented to counteract the brassy tones that can sometimes develop in colour treated blonde hair. It, unsurprisingly, contains blue and purple
pigments that counteract the unwanted yellow hues.
2. The effect of purple shampoo, however, is only temporary and should be used roughly 2 times a week along-side a shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair. If you’ve noticed severe discolouration in your blonde hair, it’s best to visit a stylist and ask about a toning service.
3. Be careful about sun exposure, which can cause colour fade, discolouration and hair damage. Try the Micro-Voile Protector mist, a light spray that protects your hair and its colour from the sun, salt and chlorinated water.
Do I need purple shampoo for my blonde hair?
If you have colour-treated blonde hair, a
professional formula purple shampoo is a
good idea in order to boost your radiance, reduce damage and prevent gradual
colour fade. If you’re a natural blonde, we recommend to ask your stylist for a
Kérastase consultation so that you can better understand your hair needs
and the right ritual for you.
There are four steps for caring for blonde colour treated hair:
- Use shampoo designed for blonde hair such as our New Blond Absolu Bain Lumiére. This Hyaluronic Acid infused shampoo is a lightweight formula ideal for lightened, highlighted or grey hair. The gentle cleansing formula soothes and hydrates hair from root to tip, with a lightweight feel. Bain Lumiere iluminates blonde hair, purifies hair from pollution and removes dulling agents. Enriched with a combination of Hyaluronic Acid and Edelweiss flower, the product prevents damage and protects the hair fibre. Hair is cleansed, with a radiant shine and nourished to the tip.
- Add a violet shampoo into your routine twice a week, like our new Bain Ultra-Violet. This will help to boost the radiance and help to protect the colour.
- A weekly hair masque will add a layer of nourishment and hair will consequently look healthier and shinier. Try Blond Absolu's new Masque Ultra-Violet to neutralise brassy tones. Leave on for five to ten minutes for maximum neutralisation.
- Make sure to protect your hair from heat by regularly using Blond Absolu's Cicaplasme, as the new universal heat-protecting serum. Lastly, be careful about sun exposure, which can cause colour fade, discolouration and hair damage.
Blonde hair looks its best when glossy and smooth. So what are the best ways to prevent dullness, damage and discolouration happening to your beloved blonde locks? We’ve got 4 tips to care for your blonde hair.
HOW TO CARE FOR BLONDE HAIR
- Gentle Cleanse
- Protect your blonde hair colour by using a gentle lightweight formula shampoo; perfect to sooth and hydrate hair from root to top, while illuminating blonde tones.
- Keep conditioned
- Conditioner specifically formulated for lightened hair will help your blonde last for longer, and maintain a good condition.
- A restorative conditioner, like our Cicaflash, will give a super shot of care to your blonde hair, leaving it feeling silky soft and hydrated
- Maintain your perfect tone
- A violet shampoo, like our Bain Ultra-Violet, used twice a week will help to neutralise brassiness and unwanted yellow tones in blonde or grey hair, for a nourished cool blonde. You can also use a violet mask, like our new Blond Absolu Masque Ultra-Violet, to neutralise brassiness and care for your blonde hair.
- Perfect your style
Why does your hair become dry and brittle during the summer, and how can you prevent it from becoming damaged? It’s all a question of keeping hair nourished and hydrated. Here’s how!
Why do I have dry hair?
Dry hair can be caused three mains factors:
Mother Nature can be kind and not so kind when it comes to our hair. Some of us are just born with naturally dry hair, like our skin type and eye/hair colour. This means your hair will always require a helping hand to keep it nourished all-year-long, but particularly during the dry summer months.
Many people find their hair becomes dry at certain periods during their lifetime. A whole range of physiological factors can play an important role in hair quality. The menopause, pregnancy and certain medications, for example, can have an effect on your hair, at times leaving it feeling dry and fragile. Combine this with the damaging effects of UV rays, and hair quality can really suffer under the sun.
- The environment
Summer holidays might mean an escape from urban pollution and work-related stress, but there are hidden risks when it comes to your hair. UV rays, salt water and chemicals used in swimming pools can all cause dry, damaged, tangled and even discoloured hair.
Repair and protect dry hair
The answer to dry hair concerns is all about nourishment in the form of tailored haircare. But not all dry hair requires the same treatment. Kérastase offers a wide range of nourishing haircare that can be personalised depending on your level of dry hair. Visit your nearest Kérastase salon for a diagnosis and recommendation.
The first step in nourishing your dry hair is the shampoo you use. The Bain Satin1, Bain Satin 2, and Bain Magistral shampoos are each formulated for different degrees of dryness, from slightly dry to severely sensitised and dry locks.
Finish with a nourishing conditioner or leave-in treatment: the three expert conditioning formulas available in the range are ideal for the summer when hair can become particularly dry. Plus, they can be used together in different dosages depending on your dryness diagnosis to offer the perfect personalised hair treatment!
Sunscreen isn’t the only thing you should be thinking about when on holiday; keeping your hair in tip-top condition is also important. Keep your colour and prevent damage with the best hair travel products, ensuring that your locks are healthy-looking and glossy enough to outshine the sun!
Holiday hair hazards:
The Soleil haircare collection from Kérastase provides you with the essentials to care for your hair from whatever your holiday throws at it!
Sun damage isn’t just a risk for your skin – hair can also suffer from damaging UV rays. Research has shown that excessive sun exposure is the most frequent case of hair fibre structural damage – affecting both the colour and quality of the hair.*
Thankfully, there are several options when it comes to caring for sun-exposed hair. The Kérastase Micro-Voile Protecteur, for example, contains UV filters, mineral oils and shine-enhancing polymers. For a pampering post-sun treatment, the Masque UV Défense Active is specially formulated to repair hair from the drying effects of sun-exposure.
In small doses, sea water can give hair that effortless tousled surfer-girl look. However, constantly ducking in and out of the waves can be a recipe for dry, dull hair. Not only can it cause some serious tangles, it can also leave hair looking dull and brittle due to the high concentration of salt.
After a day spent surfing, sailing, or simply playing in the sea, apply a nourishing and de-tangling after-sun treatment like the Bain Après-Soleil, a gentle shampoo designed to deeply cleanse and protect the hair fibre. Then detangle with our nourishing Masque UV Défense Active, to restore the effects of surface damage.
If you prefer the gentle lapping of a pool to salty sea waves, you still need to make sure you give your hair a bit of TLC. But don’t worry – the Micro-Voile Protecteur from Kérastase gives you a fine, dry and light mist to leave your hair feeling protected and beautified.
Lastly, for an all-in-one treatment to repair and defend hair from ‘holiday hair’, apply the leave-in CC Crème before and after a long day of sun, sea and relaxation.
The Kérastase Soleil collection keeps your hair looking healthy, glossy and holiday ready!
Are you in a hair-product rut? Do you reach for the same one every day regardless of the style, weather and occasion? Your hair has more than one need, which can vary vastly from day to day. Here’s a lowdown on what you should be using, and when.
Find the strength
Every woman needs a medium-hold, flexible hairspray like the Kérastase Laque Couture in their arsenal. Ideal for everyday use, it’s a micro-mist fixing spray that will softly set your style, so you can wave goodbye to the dreaded crunch. Or for those special occasions you need a bit more support, go for the Laque Noire – it provides firm hold as well as fighting frizz, without any of the stickiness. Pro tip: it’s a common misconception that hairspray is for using on the end result only. Try misting lightly onto dry hair before using curlers for even more hold.
Mix it up with mousse
Ask any professional and they will tell you the same thing: mousse is one of the great, unsung heroes of the modern hair-styling world. It adds volume, reduces frizz and provides hold, all without adding any weight or build up. For smooth hair with plenty of movement look to the luxuriously opulent Kérastase Mousse Bouffante, or for defining unruly curls reach for the Mousse Curl Ideal. Great for those mornings you don’t have much time on your hands, simply apply your mousse of choice to wet hair, using a wide-tooth comb to create even distribution and leave your tresses to dry on the fly.
For a more sculpted look with plenty of texture and personality, look no further than our range of creams and gels. Achieve countless styles with the multi-talented Forme Fatale – on wet hair it serves as a construction blow-dry spray to build movement and shape that’s soft to the touch, or on dry hair it acts like a gel that holds without stiffness. Our all-over thickening spray gel Matérialiste will make your short locks much easier to style, as well as look thicker and shinier – perfect for creating a head-turning look, or even for those who just want a natural air-dry with a bit of an extra lift.
Finding the right styling product for you and refining your hair care routine has never felt so easy!
If you’re one of those people that only reaches for the hair mask as a last-ditch SOS when the damage has already been done, then this article is definitely for you! While slathering a mask onto dry locks or split ends might act as a quick fix, it’s very much a temporary one. With regular use, the right hair mask will not only protect your hair, it can also help to strengthen it to make it more resistant to damage from external factors.
Pro tip – for best results, always use along with the range’s corresponding Bain shampoo and conditioner.
For damaged hair and split ends
Does this sound like you? Look no further than our Résistance collection and the Masque Force Architecte. Specially formulated to cater to the needs of brittle, damaged hair and split ends, it contains our patented Vita-Ciment technology and Sève de Résurrection and helps to fortify locks. If your hair is also processed, the Therapiste mask is best for heat and colour damage and if you’re trying to achieve healthy looking lengths, opt for the Extensioniste range.
For fine hair
If you thought that masks were a write off for your type of hair, keep reading! With the highest concentration of Irisome of all our formulas, the Nutritive Masquintense for fine hair is ideal if your tresses are a little on the fine side. It keeps strands nourished without weighing them down which can quickly lead to limp, greasy looking locks. And if you’re looking to add a little texture, our Masque Densité is your best bet.
For coloured hair
Acting as a multi-tasking product, our Masque Chromatique nourishes your hair whilst protecting your colour. Enriched with chelators, UV filters and Vitamin E, its innovative Système Capture Advanced formula helps to combat the external aggressors that can Impact the appearance of your colour. On top of that, the formula also contains Rice Bran oil, and leaves hair with a smooth, supple texture and super shiny finish.
For sun damaged hair
Just like your skin, your hair can suffer the effects of Summer living, leaving it looking dry, dull, and more prone to damage, Our Masque UV Défense Active is specially formulated to help your hair combat the effects of Summer damage, leaving your strands feeling intensely nourished and more resistant.
And if you’re still in doubt, why not head to your nearest Kérastase salon for a personalised hair diagnosis? Once your primary and secondary concerns have been identified, your stylist will be happy to recommend the right haircare routine, tailored for your specific needs. One healthy head of hair, coming right up!
It’s one of life’s biggest myths that having short hair is low-maintenance. If anything, shorter styles can require more time and upkeep than longer styles, and just because you have less of it, you should by no means pay it any less attention. Picking the right products is crucial.
It’s easy for short hair to get weighed down by heavy products, leaving you with flat, lifeless and greasy locks (which nobody wants). Prevent this from happening to yours by reaching for our Bain Volumifique shampoo, which creates featherweight volume and leaves your mane feeling light and airy. Before you proceed to styling, lightly spritz towel-dried hair with Spray Volumifique from the roots to the ends to build the perfect foundation for a look with long-lasting shape and volume. Top tip: short hair is less prone to tangles and more prone to falling flat so avoid brushing it as much as possible – gently combing it through with your fingers will give you more texture. Depending on your hair type, you can also choose one of our ranges specifically adapted to your primary concern, from coloured to very damaged hair.
Stay in control
Stubborn short strands can be a nightmare to keep in check. Look to the Kérastase Mousse Bouffante for flexible hold without stickiness – ideal for creating a bouncy bob or loose, natural waves with lots of movement. For a more defined look – from sleek pixies to sharp lobs – turn to Matérialiste, an all-over thickening spray gel for use on wet hair. Enriched with our innovative Intra-Cylane® technology and not with emollient agents, it leaves your hair looking shinier and thicker, as well as easier to style. Or, when used on dry hair, Forme Fatale acts like a sculpting gel without stiffness. Don’t forget: when it comes to short hair, it’s not just what styling product you use on it that’s important, but also how much you use of it. A pea-sized amount will suffice, and don’t apply too close to the scalp to avoid a greasy build-up at the roots.
Once you’ve mastered this, you’re ready to become a fully-fledged member of the short-hair-don’t-care club!
With Fathers’ Day just around the corner, you may have been mulling over some gift ideas to honour a special father figure in your life. If you’ve ever felt like your hair could do with a little extra TLC, then say hello to your new favourite product –the leave-in! Providing extra moisture as well as helping to enhance appearance, the right leave-in conditioner, mist or cream can give your locks that extra boost when it’s needed. Simply apply after shampooing and conditioning onto towel-dried strands before styling or leaving tresses to air dry. And the best part? Just about any hair type can benefit! So…
Which leave-in product is right for you?
The first order of business is to identify your hair type which you can do by heading to your nearest Kérastase salon for a personalised hair diagnosis. Ask in-salon about our new diagnostic app! This will help you to look for a product which addresses your hair’s specific needs, so whatever you’re after – intense moisture, volume, anti-frizz action – there’s a leave-in product to suit you!
For severely dried-out hair
Our Crème Magistral balm from the Nutritive collection is specially formulated to treat and texturise parched tresses, helping to restore suppleness and shine. Although it provides intense nourishment, the finish is ultra-light meaning locks won’t feel weighed down or appear greasy (never a good look). If you’re going to be heat styling, you're in luck because Crème Magistral provides thermo protection.
For fine, flat hair
Reach new heights with our Volumifique Spray! Applied on towel-dried from root to tips before styling as normal, it gives locks some serious oomph adding volume and substance whilst leaving hair feeling light and airy. Added bonus – hairstyles are also protected by its anti-static effect.
For frizz-prone hair
When it comes to fighting the frizz, none of our products does it better than the Fluidissime Spray from our Discipline range. Not only does it reduce blow-drying time, it provides a high-gloss, anti-frizz finish making it ideal for those with frizzy, unruly locks. For added protection when heat styling, apply a small amount of Kératine Thermique which provides the intense care of a cream whilst making hair instantly look shinier and resurfaced. Did someone say smooth operator?
For thinning hair
Our first densifying mousse, Densifique Densimorphose leaves hair feeling instantly texturised and fuller with a feather-light finish. With density boosting Hyaluronic Acid, Gluco-Peptides and Ceramides, locks feel more resilient and thicker from root to tip.
